• Shift: 12-hour days/evenings (VMS shift: 12H Mids/Eves)
• Hours/Week: 36-40 hours
• Employment Type: Contract
• License/Certifications: Active RN license in Louisiana, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, CPI or MOAB, TNCC (preferred)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of ED experience; previous ICU, MedSurg, or ER experience required; must pass EKG competency exam

What You'll Do:

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients with a wide range of conditions, including pediatrics, geriatrics, cardiac issues, diabetics, trauma, and infectious diseases
• Manage acute emergencies such as chest pain, stroke, cardiac events, and trauma
• Perform IV starts, NGT tube insertion, chest tube management, defibrillation, splinting, and stroke NIHSS assessments
• Collaborate with ED physicians, charge nurses, radiology, and RTs to ensure smooth patient flow
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Support a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient safety and quality outcomes

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, CPI or MOAB certifications; TNCC preferred
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Strong skills in IV therapy, trauma, stroke care, and ICU-level GTT management
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

About the Assignment:
Join a progressive emergency department caring for a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and complex cases such as trauma, cardiac, and infectious diseases. The unit operates 24/7, featuring advanced equipment and a supportive team environment. Orientation includes 2 days in the hospital and 2 days on the unit.
