Description

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients encompassing pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment protocols focused on achieving both immediate objectives and the long-term needs of communication, cognition, or swallowing.
• Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions honing in on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
• Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, medical doctors, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care strategies.
• Provide education to patients and families that extends therapeutic progress beyond clinical appointments.
• Assist in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions occasionally, ensuring a continuum of care during the treatment journey.
• Document patient progress in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to all state, federal, and organizational protocols.
• Stay informed about the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and peer interactions.

Education

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
