Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients encompassing pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment protocols focused on achieving both immediate objectives and the long-term needs of communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions honing in on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team comprising physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, medical doctors, caregivers, and families to develop integrated care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and families that extends therapeutic progress beyond clinical appointments.
- Assist in inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions occasionally, ensuring a continuum of care during the treatment journey.
- Document patient progress in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to all state, federal, and organizational protocols.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and peer interactions.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for individuals of all ages, with a solid awareness of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills to engage with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Adeptness at modifying therapy methods to accommodate various cultural and linguistic contexts.
- Sound clinical judgment complemented by strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in managing electronic medical records and documentation standards.
