Role Overview:

Client is seeking a Head of Commercial to lead and scale their commercial organization during a period of rapid growth. This role is responsible for driving revenue expansion, deepening strategic customer relationships, and building a disciplined, high-performing sales and marketing function. This leader will initially be directly responsible for new business generation to expand the customer portfolio and drive growth. They will oversee all sales and marketing activities, partner closely with operations and supply chain, and play a key role in shaping the company’s commercial strategy.

The ideal candidate brings strong paper package industry knowledge with experience managing national accounts, particularly with large retailers and e-commerce platforms, and has the ability to operate both strategically and tactically. The Head of Commercial reports directly to the CEO and is a core member of the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Revenue Growth & Commercial Strategy

• Drive top-line revenue growth across existing and new customers
• Develop and execute a clear sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives
• Identify and prioritize high-value market segments and opportunities
• Build structured sales processes, forecasting discipline, and pipeline visibility

2. National Account Leadership

• Own relationships with large, strategic customers (including major retailers and e-commerce platforms)
• Lead negotiations, pricing strategy, and long-term agreements
• Ensure best-in-class service, responsiveness, and alignment with customer needs

3. Marketing Leadership

• Oversee all marketing functions, including positioning, branding, and customer communication
• Develop clear messaging around product value, sustainability, and innovation
• Support sales through targeted campaigns, materials, and lead generation
• Ensure alignment between marketing initiatives and commercial priorities

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with operations, supply chain, and procurement to align demand with production capabilities
• Work with leadership on pricing strategy, margin management, and forecasting
• Collaborate with product development on new offerings and customer-driven innovation

5. Customer & Market Insight

• Maintain deep understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs
• Translate insights into actionable commercial strategies
• Identify opportunities for product expansion and new market entry
