Manufacturing Technician
Location: East Austin, TX (100% Onsite)
Day Shift – Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Employment Type: Contract
Rate - $18/hr
New Iron is hiring a Manufacturing Technician to support a fast paced production team in Austin, TX. This entry level, hands on role is perfect for someone looking to break into manufacturing and grow their technical skills. You’ll help develop and maintain test processes for parts, sub-assemblies, and final products in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and improve fabrication and test processes for components and assemblies
- Collaborate with engineering teams on product releases, changes, and continuous improvements
- Create and execute test procedures, support fixture design/sourcing, and analyze operational data
- Perform root cause analysis, update documentation, and drive corrective actions.
- Conduct PFMEA for new product development and recommend tooling/process enhancements
What You Bring
- Foundational electrical or mechanical experience (manufacturing, assembly, tech, or related fields preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with technical judgment and established processes
- Comfort working in a team environment with clear communication
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift, bend, and work in a cleanroom setting with required PPE (coveralls, hoods, gloves, etc.)
This is a hands-on, 100% onsite opportunity to contribute to manufacturing excellence in a high-volume production environment. Principals only.
