Nurse Practitioner, Inpatient Psychiatry Float

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Floating Position) Division of Psychiatry This is a dynamic floating position within the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, designed to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to children and adolescents across a variety of clinical settings. The APP will primarily cover the Inpatient Units at College Hill and Linder Center of Hope (LCOH). Additional settings may include Residential Treatment at College Hill; Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) located at Green Township, Norwood, and Eastgate; and Emergency Department (ED) coverage at Main Campus, as needed. The APP will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered mental health care, adapting to the needs of each setting while maintaining continuity and excellence in treatment. Experience Preferred: Experience as an APP in subspecialty or new graduate Nurse Practitioner. Qualifications Certification – PMHNP Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry Master's degree in related field (Doctor of Nursing Practice degree preferable) Licensure and certification in accordance with CCHMC Delineation of Privileges. Multi-state licensure may be required depending on subspecialty. Scope for subspecialty role will not exceed the scope of the collaborating or supervising MD. Job Responsibilities Patient Care – Perform history and physical examinations, assess and diagnose illnesses, formulate, document, and monitor a treatment plan, order and monitor therapeutic interventions, provide clinical consultation, and prescribe medications in accordance with federal and state law and CCHMC policy. Outcomes Identification and Planning – Develop measurable outcomes, prioritize and evaluate individualized comprehensive plans of care, involve patients/families/caregivers when possible, and maintain documentation and updates. Professional Practice – Maintain professional behaviors aligned with core values and care standards, participate in quality improvement activities or research, serve as preceptor or mentor, and advocate for the pediatric patient/family/caregiver. Care Management – Promote self-management and family-centered care, employ diverse strategies to achieve optimal quality and cost-effective care, and delegate appropriate monitoring and interventions. Evaluation – Use a systematic, ongoing evaluation of assessment data and outcomes to revise diagnoses and plans of care and recommend process or structural changes as appropriate.
