Project Accountant

Project AccountantInterplan is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our accounting team. In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of projects from start to finish, managing invoicing, budget tracking, cost reviews, and financial reporting that keep our projects on track and our clients well served.If you thrive on precision, enjoy collaborating across teams, and want your work to have a direct, visible impact on business outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoTrack project costs, budgets, and consultant invoices to ensure financial accuracy and complianceCreate and maintain projects in Deltek, including contracts, change orders, and related recordsReview labor and expenses on projects, flagging any issues to the billing managerPrepare and send monthly billing reports and follow up to ensure completionCreate, send, and track invoices, and follow through on timely collection of paymentsRespond to client inquiries regarding project billing and payments receivedReview consultant statements and vendor invoices for accuracyEnter and reconcile payments received in DeltekClose out projects, confirming all billable tasks have been invoicedPrepare clear, accurate financial reports and status updates for stakeholdersCollaborate closely with project managers, accounting staff, and other departments to support smooth project executionWhat You BringStrong organizational skills and attention to detailSolid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing processesExperience with project accounting (Deltek experience a plus)Strong communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesProblem-solving skills and sound judgment in addressing financial discrepanciesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentWork EnvironmentThis is an on-site role in a collaborative, commercial design firm. Occasional travel may be required for client business or training. The role involves regular computer use, phone/video calls, and occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
