Hours: variable Salary Range: Min $27.35 – Max $43.70 per hour (DOE) Job Overview The Unit Secretary/Cardiac Telemetry Tech monitors patients and responds to readings outside normal range in addition to clerical and receptionist duties on the unit. Responsibilities Manage telephone etiquette and assist visitors. Respond to emergency codes and use patient care technology (MobileView, Emergin, Right Fax). Monitor patients using EPIC monitoring software, camera monitoring equipment and other communication platforms. Communicate any malfunctions to Charge RN or Bio Med. Demonstrate proficient knowledge of ECG rhythms as validated during annual competency review. Organize and maintain an efficient work area and complete department forms per guidelines. Update phone rosters and refer appropriately between VMC departments. Adhere to infection control standards, participate in emergency and disaster plans/drills. Complete required annual education and follow standard processes for the role. Qualifications One year of acute hospital experience. Familiarity with medical terminology. Ability to organize, work independently, and multi-task. Strong oral and written communication skills; accurate spelling and legible writing. Typing and basic computer experience. Excellence in customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations. Professional appearance and adherence to VMC uniform standards.
