Office Engineer

Francison Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Office Engineer I to support the Central Terminal Area (CTA) Curbside Improvement Program at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The CTA Curbside Improvement Program reports to the CTA Curbside Improvement Project Manager and is responsible for assisting the CTA Curbside Improvement Project Manager with managing the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of all design and construction-related activities for the CTA Curbside Improvement Program. The CTA Curbside Improvement Program focuses on the arrivals curbside area around the entire Central Terminal Area (CTA), from the terminal entry doors to the outer island pickup zone. The project encompasses improvements to curbside areas, garage facades, and landscape zones to enhance the appearance, safety, security, sustainability, and overall passenger experience at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Position Summary The Office Engineer I provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal management, Request for Information (RFI) management, and construction management support. The position supports the Project Management Team, including the Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Design Manager. Key Position Qualifications Technical or construction background with experience in an active operating environment. Knowledge of design and construction contracting practices and methodologies. Knowledge and experience with the project design lifecycle from concept through Project Definition Book, permitting, and bulletins. Knowledge and experience with the project construction lifecycle from preconstruction through estimating, buyout, phasing, implementation, and closeout. Ability to maintain strong working relationships with design and construction professionals through open communication and collaborative problem solving. Ability to contribute to a professional team environment while working effectively with project stakeholders and Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). Assist with the receipt, distribution, and maintenance of construction submittals. Perform construction contract correspondence, document control, plan control functions, data entry into PM Web, and prepare management information status reports. Update and maintain submittal and Request for Information (RFI) logs in PM Web. Maintain project files and document management systems in both electronic and hard copy formats. Coordinate with contractors to ensure project drawings are posted accurately and on schedule. Distribute documents, submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs) for review. Track review comments, compile responses, obtain management approval, and issue responses to contractors. Manipulate electronic files to create exhibits for presentations and meetings. Attend project meetings and prepare agendas and meeting minutes. Perform expediting functions and maintain expediting logs. Perform additional project support responsibilities as assigned. Hardware and Software Knowledge Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient with Bluebeam. Ability to work in PM Web preferred. Professional Experience Minimum five (5) years of experience, preferably on airport projects. Experience on projects valued at more than $50 million. Experience with Design Bid Build, Design Build, and Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery methods. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations. Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
