Position Overview

Hollenbeck Fleet Services is seeking a skilled and dependable Mobile Fleet Technician to join our team. This position involves traveling to customer locations to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently while delivering high-quality service to our customers.

Mobile Fleet Technicians represent Hollenbeck Fleet Services in the field and are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, safety, and customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trailers, brakes, lighting systems, suspension components, and other fleet equipment in Michigan
• Conduct mobile service calls at customer facilities or roadside locations, during or after-hours
• Repair or replace components such as lights, wiring harnesses, air systems, landing gear, doors, hinges, and structural parts
• Perform welding, fabrication, and component installation when necessary
• Accurately document service work, repairs performed, and parts used
• Communicate with dispatch and management regarding job status and parts requirements
• Maintain company service truck, tools, and equipment in a clean and safe condition
• Follow all safety procedures and industry best practices
• Provide professional customer service while representing the company on-site

Qualifications

• Valid ASE or Michigan State Mechanic License
• Experience working on commercial trucks and/or trailers preferred
• Knowledge of trailer systems including brakes, air systems, lighting, and structural components
• Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions

Preferred Skills

• Trailer repair experience
• Electrical diagnostics and wiring repair
• Air brake systems knowledge
• Welding (MIG/Stick)
• Experience with mobile service or field repair

Work Environment

• Mobile service environment working at customer locations, job sites, and roadside repairs
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and physical work environments
• Independent work with minimal supervision
