Details Work in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) utilizing a universal bed concept where patients remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge Care for pre/post open-heart surgery patients, general ICU patients, complex cardiology cases, IABP/Impella patients, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients First shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 6:30a-7p Work 3 days per week for 36 hours weekly Every other weekend required 0.9 FTE position Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license (Indiana or compact) Current BLS certification required; ACLS also required per department compliance ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices Strong communication and collaboration skills with interdisciplinary care team members Additional Information Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and coordination of admission, transfer, and discharge activities Deliver patient and family-centered education and individualized treatment planning Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction initiatives Clinical educator provides customized orientation for the unit First-time travelers welcome to apply given no prior nursing experience is required American Traveler Job ID P-746220.
