Details Work in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CVCU) using the universal bed concept for pre/post open-heart surgery patients who remain in the same private room from surgery through discharge Also cares for general ICU, complex cardiology, IABP/Impella, and post-cardiac arrest cooling patients 1st shift schedule, 6:30a-7p, working every other weekend 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact) required BLS and ACLS certifications required ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience is preferred Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices Additional Information Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions within scope of practice Coordinate patient admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching with Case Management Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits Clinical educator provides customized orientation for new staff American Traveler Job ID P-746223.
