HR & Payroll Coordinator

LaSalle Network has partnered with a client to find a detail-oriented, proactive HR & Payroll Coordinator to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis!

Sitting on the HR team and partnering closely with Finance and Payroll, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all HR-driven changes are accurately captured and reflected in payroll. Contract Details:

Hourly Pay Rate: $30.00/hr
Location: Chicago, IL
Hybrid Schedule: 2 days on-site (typically Tues/Thurs)

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll & HR Data Management: Own and process HR updates impacting payroll, including thorough review, data validation, and pre-payroll cross-checking.
Lifecycle Administration: Manage end-to-end payroll updates, including onboarding, manager changes, compensation increases, and offboarding/terminations.
Complex Pay Impacts: Handle leave management impacts (understanding pay, tax, and withholding implications) and support seamless handoffs for severance processing.
Process Improvement: Navigate manual tracking and limited system integrations, document processes as you learn them, and champion continuous operational improvements.
HR Support: Assist with general HR coordination tasks, such as managing team inbox inquiries and cross-functional administrative duties.

Qualifications:

System Expertise: Hands-on experience with UKG / UltiPro (Required / Top Priority); experience with SAP SuccessFactors (Strong Preference) and BambooHR (Nice to Have).
Payroll Acumen: Demonstrated background in payroll processing—knowing how to run payroll, rather than just performing basic data entry.
HR-to-Payroll Bridge: Solid understanding of how HR actions (leaves, status updates, pay adjustments) flow into payroll systems.
Accuracy & Accountability: Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership, comfortable working in a process-heavy, semi-manual environment.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to ask questions, raise flags early, and collaborate smoothly across HR and Finance.
