Linux Administrator

A national technology leader is seeking a Linux Administrator to support and maintain development systems used to validate networking ASICs and software for next‑generation supercomputers. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where your work directly contributes to the performance and reliability of advanced computing platforms.

salary: $85,000 - $120,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Debug and fix prototype and emulation system issues as they occur to maximize uptime.
• Use your Pyathon and Bash Scripting skills to support systems and testing
• Maintain daily updates of development software stack on systems.
• Maintain and improve existing system status reporting infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and debug system issues to isolate root cause of failures.
• Build compute node images with latest OS versions and software stack updates.
• Administer compute cluster for system validation team.
• Collaborate and communicate with management and internal partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Skills:

• Must be within commuting distance of Bloomington, MN or Chippewa Falls, WI

• Experience with servers, networks, filesystems , and Linux operating systems

• Familiarity with compute clusters (LSF, Slurm preferred)

• Experience with ASIC emulation platforms (Palladium, Veloce, Zebu) is a plus

• strong scripting ability in Bash and Python

• Ability to work in a transparent, collaborative engineering environment

• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, problem‑solving environment

• Domonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Curiosity and an appetite for learning new technologies

Skills

• Linux Administration (2 years of experience is required)
• Computer Hardware Experience (1 year of experience is required)
• Data Center Engineering (1 year of experience is preferred)
• Network Administration (1 year of experience is preferred)
• VMware (1 year of experience is preferred)
• Bash Scripting (2 years of experience is required)
• Python Scripting (2 years of experience is required)
• Java Script (2 years of experience is preferred)
