Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantThe Regent Bank Sr. Accountant will assist with various accounting operations functions. This position will assist in all phases of the daily accounting operations and closing functions, including preparing journal entries, analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts, researching and documenting accounting issues, and assisting with special projects as needed.Performing a variety of activities to assist the Chief Accounting Officer in maintaining the financial and accounting records of the BankAssisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures for the Accounting Department. Ensuring that policies and procedures reflect current regulations and accounting practices are in compliance with GAAPMaintaining the fixed asset and prepaid account modulesResearching and identifying discrepancies through daily review and balancing of the general ledgerAssisting with the accounting and record keeping of the investment portfolioAssisting with the preparation of schedules for the quarterly Call Report and other regulatory reporting requirementsPreparing, examining, or analyzing accounting records, financial statements, regulatory reports, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to report and procedural standardsProcessing transactions and performing accounting operations, such as account maintenance, preparation of journal entries, and approving journal entriesAssisting in the preparation of financial reporting and investigating account variancesPerforming accounting reviews, analyses and special projects as requested by managementOther duties as assignedBachelor's degree in accounting or financeMinimum of three (3) years of accounting experience or CPA requiredExperience in a financial institution preferredFunctional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills requiredFamiliarity with financial softwareDetail-oriented and able to work under pressure of deadlinesProblem solving and ability to track down and resolve discrepancies or missing documentationAll candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background, credit, and drug screeningMust exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.Must occasionally lift and move up to 25lbs.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.Sitting for long periods.The working conditions are generally comfortable, with minimal exposure to noise, heat, dust, and other related items.
