Human Resources Generalist

Job DescriptionPalmetto Retina Center, a twelve-physician, 145-employee ophthalmology practice specializing in retinal diseases, is currently seeking an HR Generalist with an emphasis on employee relations. The HR Generalist will oversee the day-to-day HR operations and support employees and leadership across the practice. This role will manage core HR functions, including employee relations, talent management, compliance, and engagement, as an HR of one, with support from Retina Consultants of America/Cencora.ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities:Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.Provides HR consultation and support to Executives and Front-Line managers regarding HR matters including, but not limited to: evaluation of HR policies, legal implications related to employee counseling, conflict resolution, employee grievances, and corrective action (including termination of employment).Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.Maintains appropriate statistics and HR metrics.Works with RCA’s (Retina Consultants of America) corporate HR team to align HR functions/initiatives.Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.Travel to all office locations (SC and GA)Performs other duties as assignedSkills & QualificationsSkills and Abilities:Excellent understanding of benefits programs, administration, and enrollment, including FSA/HSA, 401(k), Medical, Dental, Life/AD&D, LTD, STD, Aflac, and others.A strong understanding of local, state, and federal Human Resource regulations and requirements.Ability to handle periods of stress while bringing a sense of calm.Comfortable in an environment where discipline with sensitive information is essential, yet developing and ensuring adequate backup for all job functions is required.Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal effectively, diplomatically, courteously, and confidentially with all levels of employees.Exhibit sound judgment in making decisions and the ability to work autonomously.Education/ Experience:Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or other similar degree - requiredA minimum of 5 years in progressively expanding human resources positions with organizations greater than 100 employees.Profession Human Resources Certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM CP/ SCP)- PreferredExperience in a large, privately held physician practice - preferredPrior experience managing an HR department as the sole individual - preferredMust be able to travel to various offices up to 100 miles. #J-18808-Ljbffr
