Title: Director / ED / MD – Senior Credit Officer, Project Finance & Infrastructure

Office Status: Hybrid – New York, NY

Base Salary: $200k – $275k+ plus bonus (level-dependent)

Overview:

Several well-established global banks are expanding their Project Finance Credit Risk teams in New York and are hiring at the Director-to-MD level, from senior credit officer seats to team leadership. The portfolios cover Renewables, Power, LNG, Data Centers, Battery Storage, Digital Infrastructure and Commodity Finance, in both vanilla and highly structured transactions. These are second-line roles with real credit authority, and they work closely with the business. Credit officers are involved early: they lead diligence, shape structure and terms, and partner with front-office teams to get well-structured deals closed. The roles suit project finance credit professionals with 10–15+ years of experience who pair deep sector expertise with sound credit judgment, transaction experience and a commercial, partnership mindset. People-management experience is valued for senior seats but isn't required for all of them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, approve and manage credit risk on complex project finance and structured transactions, within delegated authority or with recommendations to higher authority
\n
• Engage early with front-office deal teams on structuring, transaction design and commercial terms, as a credit partner who helps get good deals to close
\n
• Lead due diligence with sponsors, borrowers and technical, legal and environmental advisors, including site visits
\n
• Analyze financial models and deal structures, assign internal credit ratings, and prepare credit memoranda that document the rationale for each decision
\n
• Review and negotiate key terms in credit agreements, project agreements, term sheets and ISDAs
\n
• Own a portfolio of investment-grade and sub-investment-grade exposures, including annual reviews, lender calls, early identification of deteriorating credits and remediation plans
\n
• Identify emerging risks in new asset classes and technologies in partnership with the business, and contribute to credit policy and risk appetite
\n
• Track US regulatory developments and support regulatory requests and governance forums
\n
• Take part in New Product Committees and firm-wide risk projects

• Mentor junior team members; at senior levels, lead and develop a team of credit officers
