Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial client interviews, ensuring thorough documentation of each case from the first consultation to conclusion of treatment.

• Evaluate clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional well-being, utilizing evidence-based assessment tools to inform treatment decisions.
\n
• Develop personalized intervention and recovery plans tailored specifically for individuals, families, and groups to address their unique challenges and goals.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote openness and healing, utilizing diverse therapeutic techniques to meet client needs.
\n
• Monitor clients' progress throughout their treatment plans, making adjustments as necessary while remaining adaptable to their evolving circumstances.
\n
• Collaborate closely with other mental health specialists, psychiatrists, and primary care providers to form comprehensive intervention strategies that support overall health.

• Conduct follow-ups with mental health professionals for clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.

• Identify and intervene against behaviors that may hinder clients' recovery, providing support and guidance to both clients and their families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on a diverse range of clients grappling with various mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Special attention will be given to underrepresented communities, ensuring access to mental health resources is equitable and inclusive.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) within New Jersey.
\n
• A passing score on the National Counseling Exam (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrable previous experience working as a mental health counselor in a clinical setting.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, for effective documentation and management of client information.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in dealing with co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
\n
• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Sound understanding of medication effects, particularly those prescribed by other medical specialties, to better inform treatment decisions.
\n
• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong interpersonal abilities and a sympathetic demeanor.
