Ortho Check Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist to join our caring team in Harrisonburg, Virginia. This full-time position focuses on providing in-home care for a diverse patient population, enabling them to recover and thrive post-injury, surgery, or other health challenges. Work Environment

This role is unique in that it involves working directly in patients' homes, allowing you to offer personalized therapy tailored to individual needs. By operating onsite in a home care setting, you will create a comfortable therapeutic environment that fosters healing. Working hours are typically structured, running Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm or 8:00am to 4:00pm, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients recovering from injury, disease, or surgery in their home environment.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as exercise regimens, stretching, manual therapy, and adaptive equipment.
• Regularly track and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving therapeutic goals.
• Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers about the treatment procedures and use of assistive devices.
• Engage in continuing education opportunities to maintain professional competence and stay abreast of best practices within the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients who require in-home rehabilitation services. This includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, chronic pain management, post-stroke recovery, and various musculoskeletal disorders. By working closely with your patients in their homes, you will develop a deep understanding of their unique needs, therefore enhancing the efficacy of your interventions.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Must possess a valid State License in Physical Therapy.
• At least two years of clinical experience in the field of physical therapy is needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction and documentation.
• Proficient word processing and computer skills are necessary for record-keeping and reporting.
• Candidate should demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Experience

While prior in-home care experience is not strictly required, applicants with experience in outpatient settings or home health therapy will have an advantage. Familiarity with equipment such as gait trainers, mobility aids, and therapeutic modalities will also be beneficial.
