Senior Solution Engineer - Cloud & AI

Role Description

Join Microsoft as a Sr. Solution Engineer Cloud & AI Software, where you’ll help startups, digital natives, and fast-moving customers’ developers solve complex challenges and build the next generation of intelligent applications and platforms.

• Work directly with technical founders, engineering leaders, and business stakeholders to architect platforms that support AI workloads and business-critical applications at scale.
• Bring deep expertise in migrating and optimizing core workloads, including Kubernetes Services, Windows/Linux, API Management on Azure.
• Lead customers through modernization using the 6R framework, containerization best practices, and Azure-native services like AKS and Arc.
• Apply networking expertise to design hybrid and cloud-native solutions—virtual networks, VPNs, and secure routing architectures.
• Complement solutions with trusted partner offerings available on Azure to ensure a secure, optimized, and scalable experience.
• Grow technical expertise through Microsoft's learning resources, including support for industry-recognized certifications across Azure infrastructure, security, and AI.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR
• 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
• 5+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
• 3+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on-premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
• Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture).
• Proven experience in cloud infrastructure and understanding Cloud Services such as Azure, Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud services.
• Ability to engage technical and business stakeholders to design and deploy scalable, secure cloud solutions.
• Ability to create and explain 3-tier, system context, and system interaction diagrams, with proven experience building AI-focused solutions on the cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) from MVP to production.

Benefits

• The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year.
• In specific locations, such as the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
• Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
