Swim Instructor – Part-Time | SafeSplash Swim School – Arlington & Grand Prairie, TX

Position Summary

As a Swim Instructor, you will teach swimmers of all ages and abilities using the SafeSplash curriculum. Lessons range from beginner water safety to advanced stroke development and are taught in a fun, structured, and encouraging environment.

Successful instructors are patient, safety-focused, professional, and committed to helping every swimmer reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach swim lessons following the SafeSplash curriculum.

• Provide instruction to infants, children, teens, and adults of varying skill levels.

• Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.

• Teach water safety, survival skills, and proper swimming techniques.

• Adapt instruction to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each swimmer.

• Provide positive feedback that builds confidence and encourages progress.

• Continuously supervise swimmers to ensure a safe learning environment.

• Follow all company safety policies, emergency action plans, and pool procedures.

• Communicate professionally with parents regarding swimmer progress and goals.

• Complete swimmer evaluations and recommend level advancements when appropriate.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pool deck.

• Arrive prepared and on time for every scheduled shift.

• Assist with special events, swim evaluations, and promotional activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience teaching swimming, coaching, lifeguarding, or working with children is preferred but not required.

• Strong swimming skills and confidence in the water.

• Comfortable working with children of all ages.

• Friendly, patient, and encouraging personality.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Professional appearance and positive attitude.

• Ability to work in a warm pool environment for extended periods.

• Ability to lift, assist, or support swimmers when necessary.

Preferred Certifications

• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI)

• Lifeguard Certification

• Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

Schedule

This is a part-time position (25–35+ hours per week) Monday thru Saturday.

Applicants should have availability during the following times:

• Monday–Friday: Afternoon and evening shifts (4:00 PM - 8:00 PM)

• Saturday (required): Morning through early afternoon shifts (8:30 AM to 2:00 PM)

Additional hours may be available during camps, clinics, and special events.

Compensation

$15.00–$16.50 per hour , based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated teaching ability.
