Accounts Payable Specialist

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Position Overview M Force Partners is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a well-established construction company in Knoxville, TN. This Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely payments while supporting a collaborative accounting team. The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing a high volume of invoices in a fast-paced environment. Construction accounting experience is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently Review, verify, and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests Ensure invoices are coded correctly and processed according to company procedures Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues Maintain accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation Process payments while ensuring deadlines and payment terms are met Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable Maintain organized financial files and accounting records Support the accounting team with additional administrative and accounting responsibilities as needed Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented work environment Required Qualifications 2-3+ years of Accounts Payable experience Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented Preferred Qualifications Construction industry accounting experience Experience with AIA billing and contractor billings Familiarity with lien waivers and construction accounting processes Experience using QuickBooks Knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable best practices Equal Opportunity Employer M Force Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
