Agency Dept of Health and Human Services Division Cherry Hospital Job Classification Title Health Care Technician II (S) Position Number 65020834 Grade MH02 Description Of Work The Adult Admissions Unit is an inpatient unit serving individuals 18 years of age or older. The objective of the unit is to provide a safe and structured environment for crisis stabilization. The Health Care Technician II serves as a role model and mentor to other HCTIs throughout the facility and provides quality care to patients. Nursing care is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities / Management Preferences Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of the patient population served. Knowledge and skills to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. Must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention as a condition for continued employment. Recruitment Range $31,235 – $46,852 Sign‑On Bonus Eligibility A limited sign‑on bonus of $15,000 may be offered to the successful applicant who applies between June 1 and August 31 2026, contingent on budget approval. The bonus is distributed as follows: $4,000 in the first paycheck after the start date, $5,000 after 12 consecutive months, and $6,000 after 18 consecutive months. Eligibility is limited to new permanent full‑time or permanent part‑time employees working 30‑40 hours per week; employees working fewer hours receive a prorated amount. Employees with previous state government, university, or prior sign‑on bonus, or who are subject to contractual placement fees, are ineligible. All sign‑on bonuses are contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire. Shift Premiums Day: Saturday and Sunday – 5% Evening: Monday‑Friday – 10%; Saturday and Sunday – 15% Night: Friday‑Sunday – 15%; Monday‑Thursday – 10% Minimum Education And Experience High‑school or GED diploma and one year of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Specific qualifications: Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation; Nurse Aide II listing by the North Carolina Board of Nursing may be required as a condition for continued employment.
