This role is one of two HR Generalists reporting directly to the HR Manager and plays a key role in supporting a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, compliance, recruitment, benefits administration, and payroll support. The ideal candidate will serve as an employee advocate while helping ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, supporting workforce planning, and assisting with the development and administration of HR programs.Key ResponsibilitiesRepresent employees as their advocate and support employee relations initiativesEnsure compliance with legal and regulatory requirementsAssist with workforce planning including recruitment and selectionAdminister employee benefits programsSupport training and development programs including record keeping and course enrollmentAssist with performance management processesSupport the Health and Safety programMaintain employee records within the HRIS system including updating files and documentationProvide backup support for bi-weekly payroll processingAssist with managing the employee timecard systemProvide payroll-related reports to the accounting departmentResearch and provide employees with requested payroll informationProduce payroll and census reports for accounting, managers, agencies, and benefitvendorsAssist with new hire onboarding processesEnsure new hires complete benefit elections in a timely mannerProvide employees with accurate and timely HR information when requestedTrack benefit eligibility, enrollment, coverage changes, leaves of absence, andterminationsAllocate HR-related costs and submit vendor invoices to Accounts PayableAssist employees with disability and life insurance claimsManage job board postings and review applicantsManage and distribute employee building access key cardsAssist with worker’s compensation and company auto accident claim reportingFile required regulatory reportsCoordinate employee birthday cards and anniversary recognition giftsAssist managers with employee disciplinary issuesCompile employee data and prepare reports for HR projectsAnswer employee questions and assist in resolving HR-related issuesComplete employment verification requestsSupport the HR department with additional duties as neededRequirementsBachelor’s degree in a business-related field preferred but not requiredDemonstrated ability to work with confidential informationStrong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and other Microsoft Office applicationsStrong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasksDependable work habits including reliability, attendance, and meeting deadlinesAbility to work independently and take initiativeAbility to handle complex situations and make effective decisionsStrong organizational and administrative skillsDemonstrates professionalism and high ethical standards in the workplaceBilingual Spanish is a plus
