JOB SUMMARY: Provides direct patient care consistent with the unit’s standards of care. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff and medical staff. Demonstrates basic computer knowledge. Prepares and compiles patient records. Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff. Participates in performance improvement activities and quality assurance activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habit; and treats staff, physicians, patients, and families with considerations and respect. Qualifications Education/Certifications: High school graduate or equivalent.Current Nurse’s Aide Certification (CNA) required. Current BLS certification and renewal as required. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience: CNA experience preferred. Equipment/Technology: Has the ability to successfully and competently utilize computer software for operation of department Language/Communication: Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English. Mathematical Skills: (Basic.) Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Mental Capabilities: Able to multi-task and function at a high level with accuracy and efficiency. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
