Human Resources Manager

We are seeking to hire a full-time Human Resources Manager. This position is an in-person role and will be based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Sun Valley, California. This position will be required to periodically travel between other Southern California company locations.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, update, and distribute the employee handbook
• Consult with firm labor attorneys to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws
• Administer and ensure employee compliance with all human resources policies and procedures
• Provide advice to managers and staff on employee relations issues
• Support both Union and Non-union employees
• Ensure job postings comply with the state mandates
• Oversee the recruitment process for open positions
• Manage pre-employment screening protocols, manage onboarding, and oversee new hire orientation
• Coordinate with and advise department managers on all human resources issues
• Manage the employee disciplinary process.
• Manage and oversee time off requests including, but not limited to vacation, sick, and leave of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PFL, and PDL
• Administer companywide employee benefit plans, workers compensation and COBRA to ensure compliance with labor laws, privacy laws, and ERISA
• Monitor all workers compensation claims and return to work matters closely with our workers comp TPA
• Closely interact with the Safety Manager on all accident-related matters
• Participate during annual renewal process for the Company’s health and welfare plans
• Manage open enrollment process for all employee benefit programs including health and welfare plans and retirement plans
• Act as liaison between insurance broker and employees on questions regarding employee benefit plans

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree desired
• 5 years of human resources experience
• Experience managing leave programs
• Knowledge of California labor laws
• Navigate nuanced workplace challenges
• Champion workplace culture by designing alternative solutions to complex HR issues
• Ability to forge strong, trusting, collaborative relationships at all levels across the organization
• Ability to organize, prioritize and complete tasks under short time constraints
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required

Salary Range $100 - $140k, depending on experience and education.
