Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator

Position: Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator Department: Ambulance Schedule: Full Time (40 Hours) Position Summary Under the direction of the Trauma Program Manager (TPM), the coordinator assists in improving the quality of trauma care throughout the continuum of care. The role collaborates with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and the TPM to assess, plan, implement and evaluate trauma care, ensuring adherence to the Trauma Program’s Performance Improvement/Patient Safety (PIPS) program through concurrent and retrospective clinical review and chart review of trauma patients. Essential Responsibilities / Duties Coordinate the Trauma Performance Improvement/Patient Safety (PIPS) program for the hospital in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager to meet state, regional and national standards, such as the American College of Surgeons trauma guidelines. Assist the Trauma Medical Director and the TPM in evaluating the effectiveness of the trauma team. Coordinate and participate in trauma performance improvement and patient safety forums and committees. Facilitate performance improvement data collection, analysis, trending and benchmarking. Ensure compliance with trauma standards and guidelines; develop and implement corrective action or performance improvement plans. Educate the care team on performance improvement processes and tools, supporting the application of performance improvement principles. Participate in trauma center surveys and accreditation reviews. Serve as a liaison with external trauma agencies, including state trauma systems and regional trauma networks. Education and Experience ASN with a minimum of 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience in trauma, critical care or emergency services (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). TNCC required. BSN preferred. At least 2 years of experience in trauma program coordination, quality/performance improvement or data analysis preferred. Certifications, Licenses & Registrations Required: Current RN licensure in Massachusetts; BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications. Preferred: TCRN certification; TNCC Instructor certification. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills. Proficiency in trauma registry software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a hospital environment and participate in clinical site reviews. Compensation Compensation Range: $83,000.00 – $120,500.00.
