Overview Salary: $62,390.00 Annually Location: New Orleans, LA Job Type: Probationary Department: City Wide Job Number: 11214/1753 Job Summary Master level electrical systems work in the alteration, installation, maintenance and repair of the City’s electrical infrastructure, wire and cable/lines. Responsibilities include creating estimates of labor and material costs, preparing plans, and ensuring the quality of both skilled and non‑skilled workmanship on building electrical repairs, renovations, remodeling, and new construction. Responsibilities Establish estimates of labor and material costs for electrical projects. Prepare plans and drawings related to electrical work. Inspect and ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards. Coordinate with other departments, agencies, and the public to execute projects. Minimum Qualifications Three (3) years of full‑time experience in the trade of electrician at either the master or journeyman level. Possession of a Class "A" Master Electrical license from the State of Louisiana.* Credentials must be verified prior to appointment. *A valid license, along with original documentation, must be presented prior to the hire date. Examination Original entrance examination. Ratings are based on training and experience, weighted 100%. Only experience gained within the last ten (10) years will receive credit.
