Trade Marketing Representative (FMCG – Food & Beverage)
Location: Remote for the first 8–10 months, transitioning to a hybrid/on-site role in City of Industry, CA.

Salary Range: Up to $120,000/year (DOE) + Benefits

Position Overview
We are a rapidly growing Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company in the Food & Beverage sector, seeking a dynamic, bilingual Trade Marketing Representative. This role bridges the gap between our marketing strategy and sales execution. You will be responsible for driving brand visibility, developing regional trade promotion strategies, and optimizing product placement across key retail accounts (with a heavy focus on Asian and mainstream grocery channels).

Note: This position begins as a remote role for the first 8–10 months, after which it will transition to our corporate office/hub in the City of Industry, CA. Local or relocating candidates are preferred.

Key Responsibilities
Trade Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement localized trade marketing plans, promotional calendars, and in-store activation programs to drive volume and market share.

Distributor & Retailer Collaboration: Work closely with distributor networks and key retail accounts (especially Asian-American supermarkets and mainstream grocery chains) to secure prime shelf placement, endcaps, and secondary displays.

Bilingual Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between US sales teams, local retail partners, and overseas supply chain/marketing teams, ensuring seamless communication in both English and Mandarin.

Budget Management: Manage the regional trade marketing budget, tracking ROI on promotional spend, rebates, and slotting fees.

POSM & Merchandising: Oversee the localization, production, and distribution of Point-of-Sale Materials (POSM) and promotional displays.

Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and consumer trends within the FMCG beverage/food space, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 3–6+ years of trade marketing, field marketing, or category management experience specifically within the FMCG (Food & Beverage) industry.

Language: Native or professional fluency in Mandarin and English is strictly required.

Channel Expertise: Proven track record working with ethnic (Asian) grocery channels, as well as mainstream US retail accounts.

Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze sales data, track promotional performance, and manage budgets.

Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and PowerPoint. Experience with syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI) is a huge plus.

Adaptability: Ability to work autonomously and effectively during the initial 8–10 month remote period, with the organizational skills to transition smoothly to the City of Industry office later.

- Own trade marketing and sales execution for Chinese noodle and beverage portfolios across retail and distributor channels.
- Manage promotional planning, point-of-sale execution, merchandising strategies, and retail activation programs.
- Build and grow distributor, wholesale, specialty grocery, Asian market, and mainstream retail relationships.
- Analyze sales performance, trade spend, competitive trends, and campaign ROI to support commercial decision-making.

- 10+ years of relevant experience in sales, account management, trade marketing, business development, or a related FMCG role.
- Proven experience in fast-moving consumer goods, with strong preference for food and beverage industry experience.
- Strong understanding of retail dynamics, distributor networks, promotional planning, and trade spend optimization.
- Ability to develop promotions and merchandising strategies that connect with consumers and drive measurable sales results.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, relationship management, and cross-cultural partnership-building skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Strong digital communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with Asian grocery retail channels such as 99 Ranch, H Mart, independent regional Asian markets, or similar specialty retailers.
- Familiarity with mainstream supermarket ethnic or specialty aisle programs.
- Background supporting noodle, beverage, Asian food, shelf-stable food, or imported consumer packaged goods categories.
- Existing distributor, retail buyer, or wholesale account relationships within food and beverage markets.
- Experience launching new flavors, new product lines, seasonal promotions, or culturally resonant in-store campaigns.
