Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position focuses on serving elementary students in an Essential Skills program during ESY (Extended School Year), providing critical support throughout June. With a manageable caseload and a consistent Monday through Thursday schedule, you’ll be able to engage with students in a focused setting and help foster their academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

• Current Special Education Teacher certification in Missouri (SPED cert required).
• Prior experience working in a special education classroom, preferably at the elementary level.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Understanding of essential skills programs and individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Ability to collaborate with other educators and support staff.

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to elementary students, emphasizing essential life and academic skills.
• Develop and implement lesson plans suitable for students’ abilities and goals.
• Monitor and document students’ progress; adjust approaches as needed.
• Foster a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Collaborate with other staff members to support students’ unique needs and goals.
• Maintain clear and proactive communication with families and colleagues.

This opportunity runs from June 1st through June 25th, offering approximately 25 hours each week, Monday through Thursday. The selection process includes a prescreening with our agency representative. You may not need further interviews, depending on timing.
