Packaging Specialist

Position Title: Production Wage: $19.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 5:00am - 3:00pm (Monday - Thursday) Reached a dead end at your current job? Check out how this position can create a new path! QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available in Production at a company in Wausau, WI. This is a potential to hire position for 1st shift. Production Responsibilities: Sets up (assembles and disassembles), operates, adjusts, cleans, and sanitizes equipment to produce products within quality standards and according to procedures Accurately measures and mixes raw materials following batch production recipes and formulations Performs minimal maintenance and preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment as required, and when appropriate Assists others in the areas trained as required by production demands or by direction of the Supervisor Prints and applies labels to product Verifies lot and batch numbers and maintains accurate production records and equipment logs Assists in developing and improving SOPs Follows all workplace safety protocols and ensure safe operation of equipment at all times Maintains a clean and organized work area in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations Participates in safety training and report any incidents or hazards immediately Works closely with other operators, technicians, and supervisors to meet production deadlines Participates in continuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles Troubleshoots and/or identifies equipment failures or problems Adheres to Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR) requirements when working in environments with airborne contaminants or hazardous materials Maintains required PAPR certification and ensure proper care and usage of all personal protective equipment (PPE) Takes necessary samples for QC testing as needed Completes necessary paperwork and/or data entry for production and/or inventory records Adheres to all GMP, including sanitary requirements, Safety, and Standardized Work procedures Adheres to guidelines as set forth by religious dietary law certifications (Kosher and Halal) Requirements for Production: High School Diploma or GED with experience in a production environment preferred Ability to read, write, and speak English Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process, including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system Ability to read and follow a production journal to produce batches Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift, preferred Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers regarding the status of the production process Basic computer skills.
