This is an upper division studio course that meets on Thursdays, 1-4:50 PM. Successful candidates will demonstrate a rich and varied background in graphic design and related media. Course Description The course investigates a broad range of contemporary artists who use digital media for visual communication and graphic design. Students explore a broad range of perspectives and experiment with different conceptual approaches working with emerging digital media trends and technologies. The course includes lectures, screenings, discussions, readings, and a series of visual communication and design projects to examine visual hierarchies for text and image, color, typography, page layout and optimization of visual communication. A master's degree in Graphic Design or related field Current portfolio of graphic design or related work Teaching experience at the college level or equivalent Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Salary commensurate with degree level and experience Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $8,000 per full-time month The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges: CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A - AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full-time month CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B - AY: $6,221 - $13,224 per full-time month The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
