Your Role As our Assistant Director, you'll work hand-in-hand with the Center Director to ensure that each day runs smoothly, staff feel supported, and families feel connected. You'll play a key leadership role in maintaining quality, compliance, and community spirit. You will:
- Support daily center operations including staffing, scheduling, and enrollment
- Coach and mentor teachers through observations, feedback, and classroom support
- Help ensure Montessori principles and MSDE/OCC standards are met
- Build positive relationships with families through open communication
- Lead family engagement events, tours, and community activities
- Manage records and assist with compliance documentation
- Step into the Director's role when needed to ensure a safe, seamless environment
- Support onboarding, professional growth, and staff development
- MSDE Lead Staff qualification required
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education OR
90-hour Preschool Certification + 45-hour Director/Admin Course + 3 years of experience - CPR/First Aid, Basic Health & Safety, and 9-Hour Communication Course
- Background check and medical clearance required
- Leadership or administrative experience in licensed child care preferred
- Familiarity with the Montessori approach a plus!
