Postdoctoral Fellow

Position Overview The Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Immunology of Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, School of Medicine, at the University of California, Irvine anticipates future openings for Postdoctoral Scholar positions. The applicant can either have their PhD at the time of the application or be working toward the PhD. Interdisciplinary skills and approaches in Genomics, Bioinformatics, RNA Sequencing, CyTOF, FACS, Advanced Imaging, Biochemistry, Immunology, and Cell Biology are strongly desired. The incumbent must be comfortable and/or have experience with laboratory animal models (mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, and rabbits) and with human samples, with an understanding of advanced immunological, virological, and pathological methods. Available positions are dependent on extramural funding. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Preference will be given to candidates with interdisciplinary skills and approaches in Immunology, Microbiology, Pathology, Neuroscience, and/or related disciplines. All months of prior postdoc service will be counted towards the placement of the Postdoctoral Scholar at their initial experience level. The total service as a postdoctoral scholar cannot exceed five years. Location: Irvine, CA Salary Range (Effective 10/1/2024) A reasonable estimate for this position is $66,737 - $80,034 annually (or $31.97 - $38.34 hourly). Effective 10/1/2025: $69,073 - $82,836 annually (or $33.09 - $39.68 hourly). Qualifications The applicant must hold or be working toward a doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D.) or foreign equivalent at the time of hire. Interdisciplinary skills in Genomics, Bioinformatics, RNA Sequencing, CyTOF, FACS, Advanced Imaging, Biochemistry, Immunology, and Cell Biology. Experience with laboratory animal models and human samples. Understanding of advanced immunological, virological, and pathological methods.
