Chief Estimator

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Estimator with deep experience in underground utility infrastructure projects. This individual will manage the estimating process from initial opportunity identification through final bid submission while supporting utility, transmission, distribution, duct bank, and civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Review plans and specifications for underground utility projects

Perform quantity takeoffs and develop detailed project estimates

Solicit and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing

Prepare competitive bid packages and proposals

Identify and pursue new bidding opportunities

Work with customers, vendors, and internal project teams throughout the bid process

Develop estimates for utility relocation, duct bank, transmission, distribution, and related infrastructure projects

Utilize HeavyBid and other estimating tools to prepare accurate pricing

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of estimating experience

Experience estimating underground utility infrastructure projects

Experience supporting utility clients such as FPL, Duke, NextEra, or similar utility organizations

Strong knowledge of:

Transmission systems

Distribution systems

Duct banks

Utility relocations

Underground concrete installations

HeavyBid software experience or similar

Experience identifying and pursuing new project opportunities Understanding of civil construction activities including asphalt and sidewalk restoration

Existing relationships within the utility infrastructure market
