And we do, because a trusted partner is who we are – and who we've been for nearly a century.Position PurposeThe Drafting Coordinator is responsible for the design and preparation of complete and accurate working plans, charts, scale drawings, and revisions for complex projects using skilled architectural/engineering drafting methods and procedures through computer aided design (CAD) equipment and software.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate all design and drafting functions for assigned projectsTrack assigned jobs and coordinate schedules with Drafting Manager, Plant Scheduler, and Project ManagerAct as the primary liaison between the customer and internal Metromont departments to resolve issues concerning drawings, repair details, material requisitions, etc.Assist in the analysis of problem areas and recommended solutionsAct in the capacity of prime checker of assigned projects and be responsible for the accuracy of erection drawings and shop ticketsAlerts Engineering Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to job/drawing scope changesMonitors the approval status of drawings and keep Drafting Manager, Senior Project Manager, Engineering Project Manager and Production Scheduler informed of statusAttends customer's job meeting with Senior Project Manager, Engineering Project Manager and/or Design Engineer when necessaryMust adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.Scope Of AuthorityThis position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Project ManagementMust work independentlyCharacteristics (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Deadline and detail orientedClear and concise communication skillsAble to focus on work tasks for an extended amount of timeAble to operate within defined standards and processesMust understand Multimedia Personal Computer (MPC) standards and policies and work with limited supervisionAble to adapt to changed in work schedules, tasks, or processesValues and demonstrates safe working behaviorsEducation And TechnologyAssociates degree in Design, Architecture, or related field with coursework in computer-aided design (CAD) is requiredMinimum 2 years previous drafting experienceWork Environment / ScheduleMonday-Friday8 AM-5 PMSchedule flexibility may be needed to meet deadlinesTypically works in an open (cubicle) office environmentPersonal Protection Equipment (PPE)Safety glasses - High-visibility vestHard hat - Steel-toed shoesHearing protectionPPE only required with working in the plantPhysical RequirementsThis is an office position which requires sitting, standing, and walking.Disclaimer:This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
