About the Position

Job Title: Neuro ICU Travel Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Experience: Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience License: Valid compact or state nursing license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA Certifications only) Must-Have: Previous travel experience Description: Position is for a Neuro ICU Travel Nurse. Schedule consists of 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. On-call duty is required. The patient ratio is estimated at 1:1 to 1:2. Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity is required. Skills needed include IV start, telemetry, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring. EHR experience with Epic is preferred. Travelers must comply with a strict fingerprinting process. Candidates must have references from professional sources, including a manager or director. Candidates must complete necessary credentialing promptly. Patients may include those with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, and neuromuscular diseases. Experience with bedside procedures, including tracheostomy and central line placement, is essential. Special equipment may include monitors for invasive neuromonitoring and mechanically ventilated patients. This position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary support teams. Candidates must be willing to float within units as needed.
