Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1+ year required License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Travel experience highly preferred Experience with varied patient ratios and high turnover environment Willingness to float to other Med Surg units Description: Holiday coverage is required; however, any RTO during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing demands. Travel experience is highly preferred, but may consider candidates without it if they have sufficient permanent experience. This unit focuses on the constant reassessment of readiness for patient discharge. The unit will be rapidly admitting and discharging patients. The staffing ratio is 1:6 at night and may be 1:5 during the day. The position requires floating to other Medical Surgical units. Employees will work every other weekend. The unit sees a diverse mix of medical patients. There will be instances when the ratio may flex to 8 patients, but the RN will be paired with LPN support. The RN must work well with a variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Techs. Candidates should have experience in various nursing skills, including managing ports, administering blood products, and wound care. The ideal candidate will have great prioritization skills and excellent customer service. The ability to manage patient surges and increased patient ratios is essential. The role requires balancing throughput with patient experience. All clinical staff must comply with required vaccinations and facility policies. References from supervisors are required.
