Executive Chef Position White Dog Café has been a staple of University City for over 30 years, known for warm hospitality, award‑winning cuisine, and a commitment to environmentally sustainable, organic and local foods from farms within 50 miles. As part of the Fearless Restaurant Group, our executive chefs play a pivotal role in shaping the restaurant’s seasonal menu, fostering a culture of creativity, mentorship, and operational excellence. Responsibilities The Executive Chef will be responsible for: Creating innovative dishes for the seasonal menu while emphasizing local, sustainable ingredients. Inspiring and mentoring the kitchen team to maintain high standards of organization, professionalism, and detail orientation. Collaborating with front‑of‑house staff to ensure seamless service and alignment with the restaurant’s brand. Managing food budgeting, cost optimization, and safety protocols to meet financial and quality objectives. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of cooking in a professional environment. Professional demeanor with Jedi‑like temperament. A passion for purveyor/local farmer relationships. Advanced knife handling skills. Strong leadership skills. Must have a CURRENT ServSafe Certification or PA Food Handlers certification. Love being creative and coming up with new menu items. Sound cooking skill and technique. Ability to confidently work all stations including expo. Desire to make a family meal that is nutritious and imaginative. Food budgeting. Food cost optimization. Food safety knowledge. Staff education. Salary & Benefits Salary $90,000–$120,000 with potential bonus up to $15,000 a year. Direct deposit. Two consecutive days off per week. Set schedule.
