AEM Solutions Engineer Lead

Salary: $120,640 - 135,200 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking 8+ years of AEM development experience, including strong hands-on work with AEM Sites, Assets, Sling Jobs, and workflows.
• We require at least 3 years of custom application development experience outside of AEM or Adobe Cloud.
• We require relevant AEM certification(s), such as Adobe Experience Manager Sites Architect, Sites Lead, DevOps, or Sites Developer.
• We are looking for proven technical leadership, including mentoring, conducting code reviews, and promoting DevOps, Cloud, and Agile best practices.
• We require experience partnering with business teams to define requirements, assess risks, and design maintainable AEM solutions.
• We require demonstrated experience designing, building, and supporting AEM components, integrations, and websites.
• We require expertise in Java, Sling, OSGi, HTL (Sightly), and front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• We require strong knowledge of Dispatcher configuration, caching approaches, and performance tuning.
• We require experience deploying websites to AEM Cloud Service and on-premises environments.
• We require experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins, or similar DevOps tooling.
• We require strong troubleshooting skills and a history of resolving production issues in AEM environments.
• We require familiarity with Agile development practices and collaboration tools.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics integration, Akamai CDN, language translation tools such as Smartling or Transperfect, and search engines such as Coveo or Solr.

• We lead all AEM development activities supporting the NYC Design System and its rollout across NYC.gov guided experiences.
• We design, develop, and maintain AEM components, templates, workflows, jobs, and integrations to ensure stability and performance across environments.
• We troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Dispatcher configuration, caching, and overall platform performance.
• We support CI/CD pipelines, including Cloud Manager operations, automated builds, deployments, and testing.
• We partner with Architects and Product Owners to convert business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• We uphold coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines across the AEM codebase.
• We conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and guide AEM development practices.
• We integrate AEM with third-party systems such as CRM, DAM, analytics tools, and custom APIs.
• We monitor application health and implement observability and diagnostic tooling.
• We stay current with AEM features, cloud services, and Adobe Experience Cloud advancements.

We are the Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI), seeking an experienced Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Solutions Engineer Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership in support of the NYC Design System and its rollout across NYC.gov guided experiences. This hybrid role is based at 2 MetroTech Center in Brooklyn, NY, with a schedule of Monday through Friday during normal business hours for 35 hours per week. The assignment term runs from September 21, 2026 through September 19, 2027, with an approximate maximum hourly rate of $65. Overtime beyond the 35-hour work week must be requested through our timekeeping system and approved by the project manager.
