Key Responsibilities\n

• Offer immediate short-term crisis counseling for non-violent individuals experiencing mental health episodes, employing de-escalation techniques to ensure safety for all parties involved.

• Engage collaboratively with law enforcement officers during mental health crisis responses, assisting them in evaluating and managing situations effectively.
\n
• Provide specialized training to police personnel regarding best practices for managing mental health scenarios, striving to reduce the use of force and enhance community safety.
\n
• Deliver comprehensive case management by liaising with third-party organizations, including the Department of Mental Health and various psychiatric facilities, ensuring continuity of care for clients.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions, adhering to strict guidelines around privacy and data protection.
\n
• Effectively communicate with law enforcement, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU), hospital staff, and psychiatrists to coordinate care and support for individuals in crisis.

• Assist police officers in conducting psychiatric evaluations on-site to assess the necessity for 5150/5585 applications for involuntary confinement in psychiatric facilities.

This position primarily serves a diverse population, including individuals who have been arrested and community members grappling with acute mental health issues. By offering crisis intervention and ongoing support, the LPCC will be instrumental in facilitating recovery and improving the overall mental health landscape within the Bakersfield area.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) is mandatory.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

• Strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor, maintaining integrity and a calm approach during challenging situations.

• Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Peaceful Harmony, Inc. offers a competitive salary range from $80,000 to $122,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
