Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years of OR experience and Epic charting skills for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Job Details

• Operating Room setting supporting General, Ortho, OB/GYN, GI, Colorectal, ENT, and Pain Management procedures,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM,
• Call responsibilities split between 3 RNs, averaging 10 shifts per month,
• Uses Epic charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience required,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Experience with a range of surgical procedures including thoracic, general surgery, orthopedic, urology, and spinal procedures,
• Familiarity with cell saver equipment and operating room safety protocols,
• Knowledge of universal protocol, specimen handling, wound management, and infection control practices,

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties,
• Participate in call rotation shared among OR RN team,
• Complete onboarding modules onsite during orientation, averaging 4-6 hours,
• All requested RTO must be submitted prior to consideration, with no RTO approved during the first week of orientation,
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved,
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler,
• Travel experience preferred but not required,
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted,
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted,
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible
