Referral Coordinator

Processing all outgoing and incoming referrals for a PCP office, the full-time Referral Coordinator will secure and track prior authorizations, assist with inpatient referrals, and coordinate appointments with specialty areas while telecommuting. Key responsibilities Process referrals to specialty areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance with insurance requirements Manage incoming phone calls regarding referrals and communicate with patients about referral status Track and complete authorization requests, liaising with insurance companies for timely processing Required qualifications Experience in patient access or healthcare coordination Knowledge of insurance authorization processes and medical coding Proficiency in using electronic health record systems Ability to work independently in a telecommuting environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
