EHS & Compliance Manager

Role Overview As EHS and Compliance Manager, you will lead the environmental, health, and safety organization on site by developing, implementing, and maintaining effective management systems. You’ll provide technical advice and assistance to Site Engineering, the EHS Director, and the Site Leadership Team, enabling effective EHS performance that supports the Manufacturing site vision. Key Responsibilities Monitor and report EHS performance; connect lessons and good practices within the site and with all regional supply chain sites. Ensure EHS site objectives are aligned with corporate EHS plan and priorities. Investigate EHS accidents and high‑potential incidents to identify and implement improved EHS practices. Work collaboratively with teams to analyse information and determine corrective and preventive actions that prevent recurrence. Champion human‑factor and human‑reliability considerations in proactive risk assessments and system design. Possess in‑depth knowledge of risk‑management methods. Investigate audit or inspection findings and determine corrective and preventive actions to close gaps and reduce EHS risks. Improve the site safety culture, ensuring safe behaviours are encouraged and rewarded. Engage the site to embed behavioural safety at the heart of operations. Apply Haleon policies, standards, and internal control framework into a site‑specific EHS management system. Manage the budget for the EHS department. Prepare, implement, and execute crisis‑management processes; coach others during such events. Ensure effective business continuity and loss‑prevention plans are in place. Integrate environmental management to reduce the site’s environmental impact. Collaborate with shared services (Quality, Engineering, Continuous, Improvement, HR, IT, Procurement, etc.) to integrate EHS into site strategy, risk‑mapping, and business‑continuity plans. Develop relationships with EHS professionals at other sites to share best practices and support staff development. Ensure a sufficient number of qualified and competent EHS staff are available to address compliance, hazards, and risks. Support staff development and succession planning. Promote a culture of total disclosure on EHS regulatory compliance, audit results, and incidents. Build and maintain strong trusting relationships with customers and stakeholders. Communicate and influence with persuasive reasoning and compelling debate. Make tough, ethical choices in line with Haleon values and behaviours. Lead and develop direct‑report EHS staff members. Adhere to all quality‑compliance standards (Data Integrity, ALCOA, cGMP, QA, etc.) including QMS policy and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Occupational Safety (or related specialization). Experience managing EHS risks in FMCG, pharmaceutical, or related high‑hazard sectors. At least 6years of experience in the EHS field. At least 2years of experience managing a team. Master’s degree preferred. Membership in a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASSP, AIHA). Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Other related engineering certifications. Extensive knowledge of EHS requirements and regulations. Knowledge of EHS tracking databases such as EHSOne. Strong relationship‑building and networking skills to engage site personnel, senior management, and regional leads.
