Registered NurseAs a Registered Nurse (RN), you're the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. You make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members and visitors – going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect and compassion.Telemetry Med-Surg – 2600 is a stroke certified, telemetry medical surgical unit. This is a 27 bed unit that cares for cardiac patients on telemetry monitoring. Diagnoses on this unit are primarily cardiac in nature, but the unit also cares for patients with a diverse variety of general medical illnesses. Because of this, our nurses develop a strong set of skills and knowledge that they can use to grow their career throughout the acute care environment.We are piloting a virtual nursing program on this unit, stationing one nurse in a virtual nursing hub during the hours of 0700-1900, while leaving six nurses physically on the unit to provide direct care to patients. The virtual nurse supports the bedside nurse in providing quality care to our patients, and is part of a virtual care model that includes pharmacy and social work. Prior to training and serving in the virtual nurse role, we require 6 months of experience working on the unit.Responsibilities:Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical carePerforms initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate dataCommunicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary teamDevelops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs, strengths, limitations and goalsComplies with organizational policies, procedures and protocols including policies governing safety, medication administration and documentationRevises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriatelyCompletes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United StatesCompletes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per yearCompletes mandatory in-services and health screens in timely mannerMaintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationRequired qualifications:Diploma or Associate's Degree in NursingRegistered Nurse license in New York StateBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationPreferred qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferredAt least 6 months experience preferredEducation:AS: Nursing (Required)Licenses / Certifications:BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)Physical requirements:M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.Pay range: $38.66 - $51.91Location: Rochester, Postal Code: 14626Rochester Regional Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
