Responsible for obtaining profitable results for the region by developing the buying team through motivation, counseling, skills development, and market knowledge. Participate in the recruiting, hiring, and training efforts to grow the company buying staff. Assist in the development of regional strategies & business plan covering procurement of scrap metals, revenues & expense control. Meet agreed upon targets and promote the organization at the retail, industrial and business-to-business levels. Manage the purchasing administration functions & performance reporting, helping to streamline processes wherever possible. Ensure local, state & federal compliance of all required recycling regulations. Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure receipt of quality material, consistent tonnage, and credibility in the company. Advise senior management on maximizing business relationships & improving customer service. Clearly communicate & drive company-wide initiatives & strategies. Forecast weekly, monthly, and annual volumes and margins for the region. Adjust purchase pricing through monitoring of competition and market conditions to meet forecast. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently or with a team. Willingness to travel and relocate to other regions in the United States. Proven prior management of regional procurement or sales team preferred.
