Senior Payroll Specialist

The US affiliate of DISCO Corporation, DISCO Hi-Tec America, Inc. (DHA), based in San Jose, CA, is looking for a dynamic and detail oriented Sr. Payroll Specialist to take ownership of our entire payroll function in our payroll team. As our company grows, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing. Title: Senior Payroll Specialist Location: San Jose, CA (onsite) Salary: 60 - 100k yearly This is a full-time position with benefits including Bonuses, Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life), Health Savings Account, 401(k) program, Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays. US Work Authorization required: this position does not provide Visa support Essential Job Functions: Mange end to end U.S payroll cycle for approximately 260 employees. Oversee payroll administration for employees in 2 international locations through Employer of Record (EOR) service. Generate payroll reports, reconcile data, and perform in depth analysis. Maintain advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. (Vlook UPs, pivot tables, etc). Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as internal company policies. Oversee and handle payroll processes and compliance (state and federal), ensuring escalated payroll issues are resolved in a timely manner. Handle employee requests and questions relating to paycheck. Prepare and report financial and payroll statements to HQ in Japan. Responsible for using Excel to analyze and report financial figures to managers upon requests. Participate, contribute, and handle various DISCO corporate activities focusing on deeper thinking, value exchange, and constant improvement. Perform complex payroll calculations, including gross-up calculations for relocation, bonuses, and other taxable employer benefits. Perform other duties as assigned an a member of the Operations department. Qualifications: Knowledge and experience of general accounting, with background and experience in Payroll. Understanding of federal and state payroll laws and compliance. Knowledge in benefits is a plus. Detail-Oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Flexible, open minded individual who seeks for continuous improvement of tasks. Strong analyzation and problem solving skills. Able to work with minimum supervision. Proven track record of managing end to end payroll functions at the company over 200 employees. Proficiency in Japanese is a plus Education and Experience: 5+ years of corporate payroll experience. Processing/analyzing payroll and understands state tax compliance.
