Director OF Business Development

About the role JConnelly is a PR and integrated communications agency working across a focused set of industries — including financial and professional services, technology, and consumer brands — where relationships, reputation, and precision matter. Our clients’ long tenures are something we're proud of. We're hiring a Director of Business Development to drive new revenue growth. You'll work closely with our leadership team to activate your network, convert inbound opportunities, and build a pipeline of your own. This is a focused, senior role with meaningful upside. What you'll do Own the new business pipeline across JConnelly's core practice areas Drive proactive outreach and convert inbound leads with equal focus on both Develop proposals and scope engagements in partnership with leadership Build referral relationships with aligned professional services partners Represent JConnelly at industry events and manage the pipeline Travel regularly to client and prospect meetings, industry events, and our New York office What we're looking for A proven closer. Be prepared to talk specifics — what you've sourced, won, and how. 7+ years in PR or communications with dedicated business development experience (closing min $3M+/annual) Someone who has owned a biz dev process, not just contributed to one An existing network in financial services, technology, or professional services Proximity to or ability to get to New York regularly. Travel is required. If you haven't worked inside an agency and closed business there, this won't be the right fit.
