Medical Technologist (ASCP) | Full Time
Overland Park, KS, USA

We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist (ASCP) to join a hospital laboratory team. This role involves performing moderate and high-complexity testing, blood bank procedures, quality control monitoring, specimen processing, and laboratory operations while supporting accurate and timely patient diagnoses in an acute care setting.

Schedule

• Full-Time
• Night Shift
• Rotating Weekends

OR

• Weekends Only
• Thursday – Sunday

Compensation & Incentives

• Salary Range: $29.00 – $41.00/hour (based on experience)
• Relocation Assistance: $5,000
• Shift Differentials:
• • Evenings: +$2.00/hour
  • Nights: +$3.00/hour
  • Weekends: +$3.00/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations.
• Conduct blood bank testing and transfusion-related procedures.
• Process patient specimens, perform data entry, and ensure accurate test reporting.
• Monitor and document quality control and quality assurance activities.
• Investigate unexpected test results and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
• Correlate abnormal laboratory findings with pathological conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related science required.
• Medical Technologist certification required:
• • ASCP, CLS (NCA), or equivalent certification.
  • Acceptable specialty certifications include BB(ASCP), C(ASCP), I(ASCP), H(ASCP), or M(ASCP).
• Minimum 1 year of recent Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital laboratory required.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, and blood bank operations.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Preferred Experience

• Acute care hospital laboratory experience.
• Experience with high-complexity testing and laboratory instrumentation.
• Experience training or mentoring laboratory staff and students.
