County government agency to find a high-energy, empathetic, and detail-driven Benefits & Retirement Specialist .
In this vital role, you aren’t just processing forms—you are the trusted guide helping dedicated public servants (teachers, first responders, and civil servants) smoothly transition into the retirement they’ve earned. This is a rare entry-level professional role with a defined, lucrative career path . How You Will Make an Impact:
Retirement Counseling & Advocacy
- The Trusted Guide: Conduct rewarding one-on-one consultations (both in-person and via Zoom) with prospective retirees, helping them confidently choose their Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance options.
- Subject Matter Expert: Demystify the complexities of public retirement, acting as the go-to resource for retirement benefits information and assistance.
Technical Administration & Precision
- System Management: Drive high-volume data entry, securely scan/upload sensitive documentation, and maintain flawless records within Oracle and other advanced HRIS platforms.
- Vendor Liaison: Act as the calm, professional bridge between employees and benefits vendors, smoothing out wrinkles and solving problems before they arise.
- Financial Auditing: Put your analytical eye to work by auditing billing sheets and ensuring 100% accuracy in benefit enrollments.
What You Bring to the Team:
- The Brains: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (AA) or higher is required.
- The Background: Previous experience in Benefits Administration or Human Resources is highly preferred.
- The Tech Skills: Proficiency in Advanced Excel and Microsoft Word. If you have experience with Oracle or similar HRIS/Benefits software, you’re already a step ahead!
- The Edge: Familiarity with the Florida Retirement System (FRS) and the DROP program is a major competitive advantage.
- The Heart: Exceptional customer service skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to explain complex financial structures with patience and clarity.
