Job Description
Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children by supporting early communicative development in a dynamic, community-centered environment. Contract SLPs are needed to work with preschoolers ages 3–5 within early childhood special education settings throughout Multnomah County, primarily in East Multnomah and the Southwest Portland area. Provide impactful services in home and preschool settings as part of a dedicated, supportive regional team.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders or equivalent
- Valid Oregon SLP License (CCC, CFY welcome to apply)
- Experience with pediatric or school-based populations, particularly early childhood
- Familiarity with IEP development and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and caregivers
- Flexibility to travel between assigned homes and community preschools (travel stipends provided)
- Commitment to professional growth and collaborative teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language services to children aged 3–5 in homes and local preschools—no clinic work required
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized intervention plans
- Lead therapy sessions employing best practices and evidence-based strategies for early childhood
- Work closely with families and educators to promote skill carryover
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings and trainings (admin time and indirect hours are built in)
- Maintain documentation and compliance within the specified IEP system (training provided)
- Foster inclusivity and celebrate each child’s growth and achievements
